Der f/two artroom reber, der Ausstellungsraum für Fotokunst in der Region Basel, präsentiert in seiner neuen Ausstellung „Infinity“ Werke der internationalen Fotokünstlerin Astrid Krehan. Astrid Krehan stammt aus Nürnberg und hat viele Jahre ihres Lebens in Shanghai verbracht, wo ein großer Teil ihrer Werke entstanden und ausgestellt worden sind. Infinity, der Titel der Ausstellung, bezieht sich einerseits auf das Symbol der Unendlichkeit auf der Fotolinse, das scharfe Blickwinkel bis in die weiteste Entfernung ermöglicht, andererseits auf die Grenzenlosigkeit der Motive, welche mit der Kamera eingefangen werden können. Astrid Krehan nutzt das Grenzenlose in der Auswahl ihrer Motive, die kombiniert mit der ihr eigenen Technik die uns umgebende Umwelt in ganz anderen Dimensionen sichtbar macht. Ihre Bilder sind abstrakt, geprägt von spannender Linienführung und intensiven Farbkompositionen. Der Betrachter wird so unmittelbar in die Unendlichkeit des Bildes hineingezogen.

The f/two artroom reber, the exhibition space for photographic art in the Basel region, presents works by the international photo artist Astrid Krehan in its new exhibition "Infinity". Astrid Krehan comes from Nuremberg and spent many years of her life in Shanghai, where a large part of her works were created and exhibited. “Infinity”, the title of the exhibition, refers on the one hand to the symbol of infinity on the photo lens, which enables sharp angles of view to the furthest distances, and on the other hand to the limitlessness of the motifs that can be captured with the camera. Astrid Krehan uses the limitless in the selection of her motifs, which, combined with her own technique, makes the environment around us visible in completely different dimensions. Her pictures are abstract, characterized by exciting lines and intensive color compositions. The viewer is thus immediately drawn into the infinity of the picture.

In der kuratierten Ausstellung „Infinity“ werden die Bilder Astrid Krehan‘s mit Werken der unter dem Künstlernamen f/two operierenden Fotografen kombiniert. Die Zusammenstellung von Werken verschiedener Künstler baut Spannung auf. Wie setzen unterschiedliche Fotokünstler ein gemeinsames Thema um? Das Gegenüberstellen der Arbeiten lässt freien, grenzenlosen Raum zur Gestaltung und Entstehung von Neuem zu.     

In the curated exhibition "Infinity", Astrid Krehan's pictures are combined with works by photographers operating under the artist name f/two. The combination of works by different artists builds up curiosity. How do different photo artists implement a common theme? The juxtaposition of the works allows free, limitless space for design and the creation of something new.
