Vivid colors and intricate shapes and patterns draw the viewer into a world that at first sight seems immensely abstract but captures the details of surfaces and shapes.
Astrid Krehan focuses on creating a profound artistic composition from any image her eyes sees.  Whether it is a detail from a rusty door or a photo of the vast desert in China, Astrid manages to create a breathtaking intimate yet glorious picture.
Astrid Krehan’s works cleverly play with our perception. Her way of seeing city sites holds the gaze captive. The intense colors, the suggestive shapes and a play of light and shadow have a seductive effect. Her images are loud and powerful. Nevertheless, they touch intimate, subtle feelings.
Her photography lend beauty but also strength and energy. With her oeuvre, Astrid Krehan captures an attitude towards photography that deserves to be seen as a pensive work of art.
