ART KARLSRUHE 2025

SURREALITY reflects the surreal sensation I experienced upon entering Dead Vlei valley in Namibia. The valley’s 900-year-old trees, mysteriously preserved by the dry climate, stand motionless on a white clay surface, framed by towering orange dunes and an intense blue sky. The scene felt detached from reality—like stepping into another dimension.

To translate this surreal atmosphere into my work, I employed a combination of intentional camera movement and static exposures through multi-exposure techniques. By adjusting the white balance, I further created otherworldly hues, to evoke and visualise the sense of surreality.
